Perpetuus Red 2016
Perpetuus Red changes identity and it is re-introduced!
NICO LAZARIDI’s premium red wine is launched in the market with a special varietal composition, having applied red wine vinification with a long post fermentation maceration and no filtering. It is regarded as a cult wine and it is available in limited quantities.
NICO LAZARIDI has decided to change the blend of the wine by highlighting the variety Mavroudi creating a great wine with the participation of an indigenous variety. The company, attempting to give a special character to the wine, has decided to use this well-known in ancient times variety, Mavroudi, which has its roots in the homeland of Dionysos, Eastern Macedonia and Thrace. Combining it with Cabernet Franc offers an excellent complexity to the wine.
The endless cycle of vine life has been the source of inspiration for naming this premium wine, which has managed to stand out from its very first appearance, 14 years ago. The new label of Perpetuus Red emphasizes the strength of the name marked with intense purple elements and the outline of the Château NICO LAZARIDI winery, where production, bottling and aging take place, dominates to the top.
Perpetuus Red 2016 has a deep purple color. The nose is flooded with aromas of red forest fruit, violet, with notes of spices such as nutmeg, cinnamon and black pepper, which reveal a 24-month aging in new oak barrels. A cult wine with full mouth, balanced acidity, robust tannins and a long aftertaste that does not stop impressing.
The ideal serving temperature of Perpetuus Red is 18-20oC, being a perfect match of shank of lamb with saffron, pork frame with grape sauce and game meat.
