NICO LAZARIDI presents a brand new wine from the Greek Xinomavro variety, to be added to the Cavalieri range.
Continuous research, testing and vinification: the search for the best never stops at NICO LAZARIDI! A new wine comes to complete the range of products of the winery, which counts 35 years of history and contribution to Greek wine.
NICO LAZARIDI’s goal was to create a series of single-distillery wine products, following the successful path of Cavalieri Assyrtiko, which in recent years perfectly expresses the typicality of this particular variety in mainland Greece. Cavalieri will now highlight the character of specific varieties.
Xinomavro, the popular native variety of Northern Greece with international appeal gives wines with great aging potential.
Cavalieri LAZARIDI refers to the title of Cavaliere that has been awarded to Nico Lazaridi’s family members, in recognition of their contribution to the Italian Republic.

Vinification Method: The grapes come from selected old vines over 40 years old, giving low yield per hectare with good concentration. Classic red vinification and malolactic fermentation. The wine matures in 500L oak barrels for 24 months and then additional 6 months in ideal cellar conditions.

Tasting Notes: Pale red colour. Complex nose with aromas reminiscent of ripe red fruits, notes of spicy spices, herbs, tomato leaves and cedar. Full mouth with high acidity and tannins with a pleasant long aftertaste.
Perfect Pairing: Served chilled at 16-18°C, an excellent match for grilled meat, red meat and game cooked dishes, and ripe spicy cheese.
